Need some help

Hello all!

 

I am currently looking at the Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pros (250 ohms version). Before I buy it I would like to know if something like my iPhone would be able to drive them. 

 

I do plan on buying the Schiit Magni headphone amp for when I am at my desk, but if I am traveling I would like to know if my iPhone could power them.

Which Iphone?

 

I think the latest one might but I think you're out of luck if you have any of the previous ones. 

My personal rig - 4790k 4.8Ghz, Asus Z97 Pro (wi-fi ac), Corsair Dominator Plat 4x8GB, SLI GTX 1080 TI FE, Samsung 850 Evo 1TB, Crucial MX100 512GB, EVGA G3 1000W, and cooled by a hardline liquid cooling loop.

I think it will but not completely sure.

Maaaybe? But probably not well. Better to get a small Fiio amp for Portable Use.

 

If I were to get something like the FiiO Fujyiama-E06 how would the input work?

You would get a 3.5 mm cable going from your Iphone to the input on the amp.Than you plug your headphones into the output on the amp. Fiio includes the necessary cables I believe. Turn your phone's volume all the way up, than put the amp's volume all the way down. Than turn up the amp until a desired volume level is reached. Your iphone needs to have the volume maxed out for the amp to work correctly. Do all volume control with the amp, and you will be able to drive those headphones no problem.
