VPN compression. It's sorta hard to explain, but it basically increases your ping by a shit load but data is compressed in the VPN server before it's sent to your computer. Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure that's the case.

VPN compression. It's sorta hard to explain, but it basically increases your ping by a shit load but data is compressed in the VPN server before it's sent to your computer. Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure that's the case.

Usually when you run a speed test through a VPN, you get skewed results (because of the way that it works) and it's more a measure of your VPN's speed, rather than yours.

that is my understanding of it too, I almost always clock 26 down on my vpn and 15-16 down with out it on twc, unless i am running youtube then it drops to about 2-3 down if I don't have my vpn running. although my ping doesn't increase all that much unless i connect to a far away server like over the ocean or across the country from me.
