100 degrees while Prime95

I have an H100i cooling a 4770k and I decided to use Prime95 for fun. Once I started the torture test, my cores jumped to 90-100 degrees on HWMonitor. Should I be concerned about this or is this normal?

 

Also, is 45 degrees normal for just using 10 tabs on chrome?

What's you OC and voltage also Prime 95 request more voltage then it should/has problems with haswell.

I'm new to Prime 95 so I just used the In-Place large FFTs setting. My CPU is not overclocked

Don't use Prime95 on Haswell, as it makes the voltage go through the fucking roof.

 

Use Intel Burn Test.

 

And also, are you using the stock cooler?

Are you sure that thing is seated right? Using Chrome shouldn't push it into the 40's... What's your ambient temp?

If you still get through-the-roof temps on IBT try remounting the CPU block for the H100i.

While using IBT default settings, I got 85 on the lowest and 95 on the high and it usually stayed around 90 during the test

I reseated it last night to see if I would get lower temps but that didn't help. I don't have a thermometer with me so I don't know but it feels like 80F

I guess that might not be too far off then... Maybe a little high.

Not overclocked? I would be worried. If you had an overclock I could see those high temps ..

Make sure your fans are spinning, also go into BIOS or look at some sort of fan software like AI Suite for ASUS motherboards and CommandCenter for MSI and look under the CPU fan header to make sure your pump is running. I idle around 33C on chrome and a hot room and with a 4.3Ghz clock only gets to around 80C so something is defiantly wrong.

AI Suites show pump at 2200 rpm which I would think is normal

Is your pump running? How about the fans? Do you have thermal paste on there? What fan speeds?

Yeah that is, I would just send it back and get a new one if this is a brand new unit and you cant see anything that you might have done wrong.

I would think my cpu would overheat without the pump on. Corsair Link is being stupid and not showing fan rpm but they are on and probably around 1000-1100 rpm on NF-F12s. I have Arctic silver 5 on

You computer would automatically turn off the CPU would get so hot without a cooler. Sounds like maybe the fluid is bad or something, you could replace it yourself but I would send the unit in and get a new one. Only takes about a week

Last time I replaced it, it took almost a month and I don't want to wait that long without a computer
