So, I was waiting to buy the new ROG monitor from Asus: http://rog.asus.com/296652014/news/rog-announces-the-pg278q-swift-27-inch-wqhd-g-sync-gaming-monitor/

But, I realised that it is not an IPS monitor, so should I buy it or look for something like the upcoming 1440p 1ms response 60hz IPS from asus?

Because one has 144hz, gsync and all that gaming stuff but it isnt IPS.

Basically, I want the best experience possible (and I am a graphic whore), so should I buy IPS or Gsync?

Edit:

Chosing between 1440p IPS or 1440p GSync non IPS?

Anyone has ever seen any of these in person?

IPS screens are still LED.

IPS should be compared to TN.

Really,we don't know anything about upcoming stuff.

Also,do you have a powerful enough GPU to run games at 1440p?

i5 4670k @ 4.2GHz (Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo); ASrock Z87 EXTREME4; 8GB Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3 RAM @ 2133MHz; Asus DirectCU GTX 560; Super Flower Golden King 550 Platinum PSU;1TB Seagate Barracuda;Corsair 200r case.

Yes the LED part refers to the backlight that's used, as opposed to CCFL backlighting in cheaper/older units. LED is better because it need no warm-up time, but even then, there's a difference between RGB LED backlighting and white LED backlighting. RGB emits lights in three discrete wavelengths which is easier for the subpixels to filter, which means the colors will be more vibrant and you'll have deeper blacks as well.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Good idea. I'll be getting asus' 4k monitor as soon as it's available in my country, too :)

Yeah, I dont even know when will it become availabe in the US, but im excited to buy it, hope that it is not more than 1000 dollars.

PS: I have a gtx 780 TI, what will I be able to do in 4k, because it is not powerfull enought to run any games in 60 FPS...

It should be around 700$

The benchmarks you see online usually have the games set on ultra with aa on. If you turn of aa (which is useless at 4k) and make do with high (not ultra) settings, you should still get 60fps. I think the higher resolution is a bigger improvement to visual quality than ultra settings are. Usually ultra settings are just there for benchmarks and to give people with high end cards the impression of actually needing those cards even at 1080p and usually do not offer a big improvement in image quality. Take a look at the many quality comparisons you find on youtube between low, medium, high and ultra settings, you'll find usually the difference is minimal with a big impact on performance. Don't worry, you should be fine.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
