someone please help me. my friend asked me to help fix his dad's laptop which is a Hp DV9000 which is running on vista. The laptop is not picking up any wireless connections. I scanned it with MBAM and Super AntiSpyware and found 3 Trojans. I got rid of them and it still doesn't work. There's a wirelss switch on the laptop and even when i flip it, it still has the off light(orange).

Do you have the wireless drivers installed? If not get them from the hp website

The laptop says that the device is working properly and that there is a driver installed. It's an nvidia nforce 10/100mbps Ethernet

The Nforce Ethernet is the ethernet port on the laptop. Is there a button on the laptop anywhere that will run the wifi on? Maybe a key on the keyboard. If i remember rightly on HP laptops you need HP Wireless Assistant running to get the WIFI on.

The Phoenix | i7 3930K 4.6Ghz | Z79A-GD45 Plus | 2 x GTX 780 SLI | 16GB Corsair XMS3 1600Mhz | Two 240GB Samsung 840s | 1.5TB Western Digital Caviar Green HDD | Silverstone TJ07 | Full Custom Water Cooling Loop

If I'm reading you correctly, there is a switch on the bottom of the laptop that you slide and it turns the wifi on, if that is what you are talking about then yes. but either way the light stays orange(off).
