And sure you can clean it like that, it's just a chunk of metal.

so i have a H100i and i have done some small cleaning on it but it has been a year since i have had it so the dust is in there is it ok to hover it if it is just out of the case

Make sure not to bend the fins (avoid touching them with the hoover). Use an air duster instead if you own one.
