First Build Front USB Issue

Hey guys. I just finished my first build today. For reference, fractal design define r4 case and Asus Maximus vii ranger motherboard.

 

 

On the first bootup, everything worked fine, and I plugged my mouse into every usb port to ensure they were working - and they were. After proceeding to download all drivers and OS obviously, the 2 front usb 2.0 ports do not seem to be working. All other usb 2.0/3.0 ports do however work. Just not the front 2 usb 2.0

 

 

i have tried different headers all to no avail, so any help is appreciated.

you might need to access the BIOS to activate the USB headers

 

refer to  chapt 3-page 35 of you mobo manual

Hey, thanks for the reply.  I got it sorted, front panel connections somehow became loose, not from motherboard but from the other end. Fixed the problem.

 

As a side note. my 1866 mhz corsair vengeance lp ram only shows up as 932.5 mhz on CPU-Z although i've changed it in bios. Any ideas why that may be?

its normal DDR means double data rate

cant tell for sure but check the exact spec of your RAM for the CAS latency
