Hi  i have a hp dv6-6001tx .I got a fan problem that just apreared error code 90B .Do i have to replace the fan and if i use a colling pad will my laptop overheat and damage my cpu ?

cleaning the heatsink fan assembly and thermal paste is never a bad thing. I once bought a laptop for $40 and that was the only thing wrong with it. even for a core2duo, two years ago at $40 that wasn't a bad deal
