Hey,

I honestly have no idea what’s going on, but some game’s performance has been absolutely terrible lately.

Right now I’m playing on a:
Ryzen 7 9850X3D
ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti
Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite WiFi7
G.SKILL Flare X5 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz
Be quiet! 850W 80+ Gold Pure Power 12 setup, and as you can see, my 1% lows are absolutely awful (especially in Destiny 2)

Since I had some spare hardware around, I also tested the game on a completely different motherboard, with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and even an older RTX 2080. Same issue.

I did a completely fresh Windows install, installed nothing except the basic drivers and the game itself, and the problem is still there. Everything is up to date, including BIOS.

EXPO is enabled in BIOS (setting it to disabled did not help). iGPU, WiFi and BT are disabled.

Temps are looking fine to me, it reached 72C under cinebench. My power profile is on performance mode, both in windows and nvcp.

I’ve tried basically every in-game setting possible. I also tested a bunch of Nvidia Control Panel tweaks recommended in older Reddit threads. I capped the FPS below my monitor refresh rate (240Hz), because uncapped FPS actually makes it much worse. It mostly happens in older games like Destiny 2, PUBG...

Have any of you experienced something similar? I’m honestly running out of ideas at this point.

When gaming, are you using overlay like Rivatuner?

I can't play Hell Let Loose with monitoring software as it just stutters like crazy, its buttery smooth once I turn off OSD/ Rivatuner.

This might be whats happening here.

I use RTTS to limit my frames only. Discord, nvidia and steam overlays are off, basically all the extra overlays are turned off. My monitor is 240hz, so I use the following settings:

NVCP:
G-sync on
V-Sync on
fps capped 5 below my monitors refresh rate - 235

Ingame:Vsync off, fps cap: unlimited

I have also tried to play these games with gsync off, vsync off, and capped and unlimited fps- it was even worse.

Can you try to not use RTTS and instead limit the framerate in Nvidia Controler Panel?  Disable or uninstall RTTS and restart your PC.

I had a 240hz monitor and I capped my framerate to 237 with Gsync on my 9800X3D and RTX 4080 combo, buttery smooth.

Sure I will try, can you share your nvcp settings to me please? I would appreciate it.

Just Gsync on, Vsync ON,  FPS limit 3 fps lower than monitors refreshrate and prefer maximum performance.

With Vsync off in any game and unlimited framerate if that option is in the game.

I don't have a framerate limited on my current monitor as its a 34'' 360hz and I can't really reach that in any game with my 4080.

Uninstalling RTTS and setting a custom fps cap thru nvcp did not help. Just recorded this session, not sure if you can see it but theres constant microstuttering, especially in the beginning.
