I would like to buy an rx 6600.

I found one at around 120 euros in Bulgaria.

The guy showed me the temps in Furmark.

Are these temps ok or should I pass on the GPU?

Please check the attached file.

Also is a 80+ 500W PSU a good combo?

Budget (120 euros):

Country: Bulgaria

Based on what I can find off a quick google search, yes, that's normal under a load, a little on the upper side but fine.

Average idles should be around 53°C

Gaming should be around 70°C with the hotspot around 82°C

Based on US Pricing, yes, average ebay listing in the states is around 120 euros.

Power supply is purely dependent on what the Power Supply is and what your other components are. If it's a cheap knock off PSU, I wouldn't use it.

In terms of if there is something better you can get, I can't answer that, I'm not very familiar with that price point anymore, additionally US availability and pricing can differ from European areas.

Turning it off and on actually does help. Sincerely, I.T. Specialist.

70C sounds about right for power virus on an air cooled card.

As for the PSU: really depends on what it is:

Thermaltake SMART 80+: NO

Aresgame 80+ 500w: no

Lower wattage PSU's that aren't an X50W are likely going to be either significantly older than you want, or significantly lower quality than you want.

The big OEMs for power supplies are going to be

Seasonic

Great Wall

Corsair (Great Wall is usually the OEM)

FSP

Delta (OEM systems usually)

All of which to my knowledge have not made x00W PSUs in a while (Delta excluded because OEM "Value engineering low overhead ultra efficiency" units)

Temps looks great 🙂 Absolutely nothing to  worry about.

I'd like to know what exact PSU we are talking about, there are many 500w PSU's on the market and some are absolute shit.

yeah true that :
i´ve seen power supplies with a 500w logo on them which could not even deliver 300w of stable continuous power ...
OCZ CoreXStream 500w down right smoked one of my test setups and burned the EPS 4 pin cpu cable in the process ...
which reminds me jonnyguru used to have a pretty funny series about them called "gutless wonders" back in a day ...

on the bright side of things - your entire system should not consume more than 200-230w of power under load
(even with the rx 6600 upgrade in mind - although this card can have a pretty "nasty" momentary power spikes
going beyond 200w on the card alone) -

so even a "potato" 500w unit should be able to handle it (with the emphasis on "should") ...
on the other hand if you happen to have a good seasonic or corsair unit -
those are often able to go even beyond the limits of their rated power .

if you want to get a quick fast hint whether or not this PSU is even moderately modern and decent -
unplug the power, open the side panel of your case
and read the ratings for the rails on the side of your PSU -
most importantly the one that says +12V : a decent PSU should be able to deliver almost all of its rated power through this rail .

for example i recently run into a 420w PSU which had no PCIe added cables for the GPU and its 12V rail was rated at only 15A
which means it was only able to deliver 180w of its 420w rated power through this rail -
which indicates a very old and outdated design/topology .

needless to say i´ve still tried to push it  😄  -
just out of curiosity with the gtx 1660 super set at 125w using a molex/pcie adapter - i´ve experienced a few shut-downs under load)
(don´t try this at home)

here is the 420w power supply in question:

r30Wvek.jpeg

and here is the example of a relatively decently made 400w psu

(still would be considered a tier E by todays tier standards but it´s actually OK -
this guy managed to power up gtx 1080Ti and i7 4770 - reduced to 150w and 65w power limits respectively but still) :

you should be good with a 500w evga PSU - even if it´s one of their lesser units .

this is a very basic , low end model with outdated group regulated topology
but it will do for this system .

by the way what processor are you using and how much ram do you have ?

I have a ryzen 5 5500 and 16 GB of RAM.

The motherboard supports m.2 so I put in one that I swapped, 4 HDDs and one 2.5 inch ssd. Basically this power supply was from the old rig and I thought I do not need to change it for the time being. So I just left it as it is. The graphics card is a gtx 1050 1GB.

the processor is still decent especially for the class of cards like rx 6600 ,
although if you can find rtx 2060 super for a similar price i would go for nvidia instead .
either way this will be a huge upgrade over gtx 1050 -
you will be able to play basically any game at 1080p -
the quality of the settings to achieve playable FPS will depend on the demands of a specific game though .
