Does anyone have experience with this card? I'm looking for a cheaper sound card that supports Dolby Headphones and still sounds better than the on board audio. It's also really nice that the hard has a port for the front panel audio so you don't have to use the back ports. This card seems pretty good and Linus usually talks highly of the Asus sound cards, but some of the reviews are kind of frightening, like simply not even being able to install drivers.

If anyone has recommendations or experience with this it would be great, thanks.

I don't have the DGX i just have the regular DG. As long as you have a decent pair of headphones it is worth the money for the upgrade. I heard that the dgx's have an issue with front panel sensing. If this is not an issue for you then go for it, but i needed it to work and my motherboard has a few PCI slots on it still. The only downside i have experienced is that when i am not using my headphones i have a 2.1 speaker set-up, and to get the sub to work i had to set it up as a 5.1 system. Not a big deal most of the time, only time i have noticed that it does weird stuff is at the loading screen for BF3. Overall worth the money, audio is cleaner, but like teddybear said don't expect miracles.

had the DG, and now have the DGX. both decent, no dramas here except for driver install. much better than onboard. love the inbuilt headphone amp.

tip for driver install, helped on 4 different machines i put these in, disable user access control prior to starting driver install

spent so long googling till i stumbled on that in a post somewhere

I have a DGX and convinced my friend to get one as well. They were out of stock, so he just got a DG. Both are great cards for the price, and noticeably better than onboard (of course).  The only issue I have had was when I installed it, my computer didn't post. Turned out I needed to flash my BIOS to the latest version to get it to work... no biggie. And sometimes I need to manually set it to front audio if I plug in headphones. Otherwise, works great.

Wit is educated insolence.

I am not an audiophile and I use Razer orcas, but I still noticed a very big improovement going from onboard to my DGX and i didn't have any problems with it whatsoever.

I highly reccomend it to anyone, as it doesn't cost a lot, but offers a lot. Also, I don't think many people can tell the difference between a 30$ soundcard and a 100$ one in a blind test with regular headphones, because not everyone wants to spend 200$ on headphones ^^
