When I turn on my computer it won't boot into Windows 10. It crashed into BSOD with an ACPI BIOS error. A red light by my 24 pin connector turns on. I can get into the UEFI/BIOS menu and I even tried re-flashing my BIOS and I'm still having the same problem.

Sometimes I get lucky and is able to boot into Windows 10, but for the most part it crashes on startup. When I do manage to startup Windows 10 the computer runs without any issue for days.

I was hoping this computer would last until October when they drop support for Windows 10. Is my motherboard bricked?

ACPI BIOS error indicates a communication failure between windows and your BIOS. This MIGHT be repaired by just repairing windows or flashing/updating your BIOS. Seeing as you did the BIOS already, have you tried repairing windows?

ACPI is power management so it could be drivers for something on the motherboard. Because you are eventually able to get into Windows, could you check if you have any dump files from the BSODs? Go to C:\Windows\Minidump (Sometimes Minidumps for some reason) and check if you have any minidump files. If you do, go back to the Windows folder and copy the Minidump folder itself to the Downloads folder (You can use the desktop if you don't have OneDrive syncing files). Zip the copied folder and attach it to a post.

Yeah it has ran the repair windows thingy when I do manage to boot into Windows. I also ran DISM and SFC.

I tried reinstalling Windows 10 with an USB but that also crashes. Can't get it going.

It's so difficult to get into Windows 10 now. Constant BSODs.

I can't seem to install any OS on it. Windows 10 won't install and Windows 7 on a DVD won't install.

Exactly why you should try to install LInux 🙂

I spoke to soon. I unplugged all my hardrives except one (another SSD) and I still get BSODs when I try to reinstall Windows 10 with an USB.

So you tried an entirely differentt SSD than before and in a different configuration? Could be the port that the SSD is using giving you issues as well

I have 3 SSDs in 3 different ports. I unplugged every HDD and SSD except one at a time and tried reinstalling Windows. I'm starting to think my computer is completely kaputt.

Can't flash memtest on an USB because I can't get into windows. Even still, considering everything was stable for days when I actually got past the boot up process and got into Windows that shouldn't be the issue right.

I've had ram sticks fail on me before so I know what it feels like. 🫠

You've only had them fail once, hm?

RAM sticks failing can cause a very, very wild variety of different issues to occur. The symptoms change depending on a lot

If you can, get memtest from another computer. Any computer you can get access to

If you have multiple sticks then try running with just one of them, then the other, etc.

Otherwise make the USB stick using another computer, at a friend's or whatever...

The RAM sticks I have now have never failed before. It was some other sticks a long time ago.

But I can try memtest just to rule it out. It's just a pain in the neck to do it now.
