I found a very cheap 9800X3D nearby and bought it for roughly 350€ today (brand new box, still sealed).
I had a 7800X3D currently in my pc and I'm debating which one I should keep. If I sell my 7800X3D, I'll get around 300 for it.

I game on a 32' 4k OLED monitor. As GPU is 5070 Ti and RAM 2x16gb 6000mhz cl30 ddr5 kit.

I mainly play OSRS by myself, with friends its The finals, Borderlands 4, Rocket league, apex and league.

Me, I'd use the 9800x3D, sell the 7800x3D.
Then my 9800x3D is almost free. 😛

This was my thinking, a 7800x3d -> 9800x3d upgrade for less than 50 bucks? banger.
But if im gpu bottlenecked anyway, i could just flip the 9800x3d for a nice buck

For me? I'd take that sweet sweet 15% boost in performance with the 9800x3d. But I'm a person who actually slams all those threads with some regularity
For you? I'd recommend flipping the chip and pocketing the 100-150 profit.

Me : "Selling my 7800x3D while the price still good enough, I got a better replacement cheaply anyway"

But yeah, ultimately its up to you.

I'd use the 9800x3d. And you can hold on to that 7800x3d cuz for sure, shits gonna be expensive in the coming months. Think of it as an investment before you sell it.
