  • ASUS PRO A620M-DASH-CSM
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X

This board does not support 9000 series without a bios update. It also cannot update bios without a cpu from what I can find. So highly likely its just that common issue. A620 is very unpopular so old stock is very common

I bought an entire new PC for my soon and it starts but do not post, part list:

  • MOBO: ASUS PRO A620M-DASH-CSM
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
  • GPU: ASRock SteelSeries Radeon RX 9070XT
  • RAM: ADATA XPG 32 GB KIT(2x16GB) DDR5 6000 MT/s CL 36 Lancer Blade Black
  • SSD: WD Black SN7100 1 TB
  • PSU: Fortron VITA BD 850W
  • Cooler: Fortron Air CPU Cooler NP5-B
  • Case: Cooler Master Elite 301 Mini Tower

I have an older working AM4 computer at home which i can and did use to test some parts, here is a list of what i tried:

  • Reseated the cables multiple times
  • Tried both RAM sticks in a single configuration
  • Reseated the CPU
  • Clear CMOS by holding the jumper for 10 seconds
  • Clear CMOS by removing the battery and holding the jumper for 3 seconds
  • Removed every connector except the DP and power cable
  • Left the computer on and went out for some errands to give the RAM training a chance (did this 3 times)
  • Tested without an SSD
  • Test GPU in the other computer (works)
  • Test the SSD in the other computer (works)
  • Test the PSU from the other computer (picture for fun)

On all the tests the behavior was always the same, on power button press, all the fans start, GPU LEDS turn on, nothing is show in the screen. Supposed QLED, which should be on the power light stays fixed.
Current state of the motherboard:

My current suspicion is that this a Mother Board issue, since without an SSD the power LED should cycle very slowly according to the manual:

But please, send ideas that i can test or what could be the issue. I am already resigned to having to buy some new parts and test stuff out, can't do that today so anything i could test is welcome.

Thanks!!

That would do it, I will RMA it and get a new one.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

The ASUS PRO A620M-DASH-CSM is not a particularly good motherboard either.

See if you can find a cheap B850, they have native Ryzen 9000 support.
