Now that the new Nvidia drivers completely broke compatibility with the old standalone ASUS Aura app and ASUS will obviously not fix the old EOL standalone app and I absolutely refuse to install armoury barf I am looking for a standalone arg controller with an internal memory where I can save a profile to so it can run without having software open / services running and is completely independent from motherboard or any other components.

I had a gelid thing Arduino based controller with FastLED but I'm trash at coding / programming so I could not make that work for the live of me.

I found out cooler master has the "LED Controller A1" that is supposed to have a memory so I can just program a LED style with masterled+ and save to the controller and not have the software open. Don't know for sure if it works like that but the instructions seem to say so.

Are there any other alternative controllers that can do the same? I know the razer ones can but I also hate synapse and they are ungodly expensive. Corsair Commander uses proprietary connectors and the commander + conversion cables is very expensive too so that's not an option.

I bought one of those Cooler Master A1 controllers for 20 bucks and it works as intended. The standard effects are a bit limited from MasterPlus+ natively however it also fully supports OpenRGB including save to flash so that's perfect. Solved.
