I have an Alienware Aurora R12 that I got for Christmas a while ago. Recently it has started to act up with many multiplayer games because I have to install them on my external hard drives. I want to know if it is possible to upgrade my RAM and transfer my boot drive to a new, bigger, SSD if I bring it somewhere like best buy.

If there is expansion capacity inside, it might be easier to add another SSD to put games on and leave the existing boot drive untouched. If you don't know what's inside, give the full exact model number and it might be possible to look up what it can or can't do.

First things first. If you are running out of storage, you want to upgrade your SSD, not your RAM. Those are two different things.

It should be possible to install a bigger SSD and any computer shop can do it for you.

Depending on your motherboard configuration (I am not familiar with Alienware), it may also be possible to add another SSD on the motherboard so you don't have to replace the one you already have.

You can clone your drive to a larger SSD and replace that drive with your new one. With a 3rd party app like the free Hasleo Backup Suite.

https://www.hasleo.com/index.html you don't have to go to a shop to do this.

As stated, the easiest thing to do is to get a new larger internal  SSD. Move your games to this drive and leave your boot drive as is.
