Replace air cooler with AIO

I am looking at putting an aio on my cpu. I have the fans I want already on the machine. Am I right in saying that if I remove the air cooler I can use the fan header previously used for it to power the aio pump?

Some motherboards have a special AIO header, but if yours doesn't then yes you can use the CPU_FAN header to power the pump.

You will, however, need to set the fan curve of this header appropriately. Read the manual for your AIO and follow what it says. Some pumps don't like receiving PWM signals and you might need to set the header to 100% always.
