Interesting lists, did you suggest the RTX 5070 for the price or because its Nvidia? The RX 9070 XT seems to be a really good option price to performance wise, but I would consider sticking with Nvidia if its worth it.

I'd go 5700X, 9070XT and a 1440p monitor (don't think you have one yet?).

Looking for some advice on upgrading the below build. I was focusing on the GPU looking at a RX 9070XT but I realise that the CPU is getting old too, so open to suggestions, I did want to get a 5000 series 3d processor but stocks have depleted it seems!

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX XT

Asus ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING WIFI II ATX

Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory

Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 (Boot)

WD_Black SN850X 2 TB (Games drive)

2 other HDDS

EVGA Black GeForce RTX 2070

Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic ATX

EVGA SuperNOVA 850 GT 850 W 80+ Gold

Budget (including currency): £1000 lower the better ofc

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mostly Single Player games, KCD 2, Battlefield 6

Other details focusing on an fps of 120 at 1080 (1440 would be a bonus)

Accidentally left this topic blank 😅 so I have editted it now!

A basic am5 upgrade (7500f, b650-s, 2x16gb 6000mt/s cl36) is about 250-350 pounds I think, depends on how much you'll get for your mobo cpu and ram, no need to sell ssd's or anything else, for that cooler you can mount it on am5, but I don't know if you have the right moutning hardware.

You can look for 2nd hand mobo cpu ram bundles, too if used doesn't scare you.

Yes, 3700X will be keeping you back.

Frankly you've missed the 5800X3D and 5700X3D trains. They're gone and prices are sky high now, used 5800X3D goes for more than a used 7800X3D. You're got a day left to bid on this 5800X3D, which is a snipe deal but it will be a simple upgrade, just needing BIOS update likely and ASUS was annoying to update cause it needs previous updates but doesn't tell you which.

MAIN: Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Kraken X62 Rev 2 - STRIX X470-I - 3600MHz 32GB Kingston Fury - 250GB 970 Evo boot - 2x 500GB 860 Evo - 1TB P3 - 4TB HDD - RX6800 - Antec HCG Platinum - Manta - Silent Wings Pro 4's enjoyer

SetupZowie XL2740 27.0" 240hz - Roccat Burt Pro OG Corsair K70 browns - PC38X - Mackie CR5X's Mackie CR8S-XBT

Current build on PCPartPicker

HTPC: Ryzen 7 2700X - BeQuiet! Shadow Rock 3 - STRIX X570-F - 3200MHz 32GB Corsair Dominator - 250GB Exceria boot - 500GB SN730 - 1TB Sandisk 3D - 4TB HDD - Limited Edition Vega 64 - Corsair RM750x 80+ Gold - North - Alphacool Apex Stealth Metal - BeQuiet! Light Wings

SetupHisense 55E7NQ - Hisense HS205G

Are you sure you need AM5 though? You should be fine with something like 5800X or 5800X3D paired with a 9070XT, which would fit your budget, or even save quite a bit. HardwareCannucks made a video on the topic lately so you might want to take a look and see if a high end AM4 would be enough. These have come down a price quite a lot, as the 5800X can be found at around €150.

Interesting lists, did you suggest the RTX 5070 for the price or because its Nvidia? The RX 9070 XT seems to be a really good option price to performance wise, but I would consider sticking with Nvidia if its worth it.

The 9070 and 9070 XT are both excellent cards.

Seems to be my thinking too.
My bad for not including the display, I mainly use this on a Samsung Q80T 55" in my living room, might upgrade that down the line.
