CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

  • Cooler: Deepcool LT720 360mm AIO
  • Motherboard: MSI MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI
  • GPU: PNY RTX 4070 Ti (12GB)
  • RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
  • Storage:
    • Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB NVMe SSD
    • Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB NVMe SSD
    • Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD
  •
  • PSU: Asus TUF Gaming 1000W 80+ Gold
  • OS: Windows 11

Issue:

My PC is currently stuck in a boot loop after reinstalling my RTX 4070 Ti.

Here’s what happened:

  • I was initially running fine until I installed the latest NVIDIA GPU drivers.
  • After the driver install, my system began looping between the MSI logo + spinning Windows loading circle and “Preparing Automatic Repair.”
  • To troubleshoot, I removed the GPU and performed a fresh install of Windows 11.
  • I also completely wiped all drives before reinstalling Windows.
  • Without the GPU installed, I was able to boot normally, install apps and updates, and play a quick practice range in Valorant (around 30 FPS, no GPU).
  • I did not install any GPU drivers before reinstalling the GPU.
  • After shutting down and reinstalling the GPU, the boot loop returned immediately.
  • Now, even with the GPU removed again, the system still boot loops
  •
  • Occasionally, it will hang on a black screen with an hourglass cursor, which later switches to a normal cursor but never loads into Windows.

UPDATE IT NOW LOOPS IN TO THE BLACK SCREEN TAKES 5-10 mins to load out and then re loops the boot

did you try to boot up in safe mode? you can enter by "forcing" the shutdown while windows is booting up, you enter in the recovery enviroment and from there poke around the menus untill you find the safe mode.

if it boots in safe mode, download and run DDU to delete ALL the drivers and manually download a couple earlier versions of you GPU drivers, don't download the latest since they break the system, check if it works on restart and then wait for more drivers update without updating, i'd wait like a month or 2 just to be safe
