will there be any problems? i don't wanna have to fight with my pc if i enable secure boot and get a black screen and i certainly do not want any data loss.

Most of the problems reported are with older PCs, I don't recall seeing any "bricking" with AM5, not that I'm trying to guarantee it can't happen.

My bigger concern in your case, is not secure boot with X670E, but secure boot when you're using a custom bootloader.

like many others, i want to turn on secure boot to play battlefield 6. however, i have read horror stories online of other people who did that and had to fight with their pc to unbrick it. so i am concerned about trying it since it does not seem to be as easy to fix as just turning the option back off if it does not work. as far as i can tell, i shouldn't have any problems with my set up but, i'm gonna list my setup so that you all can hopefully tell me what u think.

ROG STRIX X670E-E GAMING WIFI & bios 1709

ryzen 7950x

asus tuff 4090

CORSAIR Vengeance DDR5 RAM 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MHz (CMK64GX5M2B6000C30)

CT2000T700SSD3 Crucial T700 2TB Gen5 NVMe(for windows 10)

WD_BLACK SN770 1TB(windows 11)

i run a dual boot setup and i also have macruim windows pe for recovery. the boot drives are formatted to gpt and i use uefi bios. i have my downloads and docuents folder located on other drives. i used rufus to install both 10 and 11 and bypass the secure boot requirement on 11. i use "ireboot" and "easy bcd" to control what operating system the pc boots into.

will there be any problems? i don't wanna have to fight with my pc if i enable secure boot and get a black screen and i certainly do not want any data loss.

There might be problems after June 2026 with RTX 40xx and older cards for those using secure boot.

Read this article.

https://www.techpowerup.com/340520/some-older-nvidia-graphics-cards-may-not-boot-correctly-with-windows-secure-boot-after-june-2026

Hopefully it'll be solved by then.

Or anti-cheat removes the secure boot requirement, not all anti-cheats require it.

I have no idea, I'm afraid. I'd suggest taking a look at their forums or subreddit (if they have one).

UPDATE: turned on secure boot and it caused me no problems. however, i found the game also require tpm 2.0 to be enabled. that was a pain in the rear end that i worked on all day because windows would not detect that i had enabled it in the bios. i wound up having to update to the latest motherboard bios. i was very hesitant to do that because asus amd bios updates are known for causing problems and this one had a warning that i would not be able to roll it back. however, it seems to work flawlessly. thanks for all of the help. i would warn anyone that is thinking about trying any of this to use a backup program u have experience with and back up your drive that has your OS on it just in case u do run into a problem. also, be careful not to have bitlocker enabled so your data does not become encrypted when enabling tpm.
