RAM not fully detected...

Go to solution Solved by Time_Traveller159,

"but does the CPU actually support that many ram sticks.... full specs, etc?"

Yep! I just got it sorted. Took a little while of trial and error xD

i9 1080xe - I cleaned the ram, as per Tridefender's suggestions, and yep, it shows as 64gb in the BIOS but in CPU-Z and everywhere else it shows up as 128GB now XD

As well as, Bwithnewcast's suggestion of checking all the ram and making sure they were seated properly... Yeah, I was being stupid ;P

Thank you everyone! ;D

Hey!

I sure hope I put this in the right place, this time...

(ahem) Anyway...

It's me! The nerd who, has a lot to learn, but is willing and has learnt a fair few things along the way! ;D

Okay, onto the issue I have here:

I have Windows 11. 64 Bit.

I have 128GB Ram. DDR4. 2666mhz for all sticks. They are Physically there, all present and accounted for.

Issue: Windows is NOT detecting ALL the Ram... Says it only can detect 4/8 (four out of eight slots)...

However, in CPU-Z, it says it can see *almost* all the Ram...

... Am I missing something? Or, am I being clearly stupid?

This is my "new" pc. Well, "new" to me. One that I put a lot of time into saving to buy. I've been "experimenting" with machines, and recently sold an AMD one.

To those who saw my previous posts... Yes, yes, I went back to "Team Blue" but I'm just... I dunno. I seem to have a long love for Intel.

Even if they are at everyone's "despise" list...

So yeah, do I need to do a fresh install? or is there something else I'm missing?
