Last time we unboxed the $30,000 cascade chiller, but today we’re actually putting it to the test with legendary overclocker Charles " Fugger" Wirth. After hours of prep, BIOS tweaks, and near-misses, can the rig push through and crack a World Record?

Not to sound like a typical nerd but aren’t you trying to solve the symptoms of deep cooling without and solving the problem?

condensation and icing is due to the temperature of the material falling below the dew point.

to reduce the dew point significantly you can lower the humidity.

if you makeshifted a enclosure around the motherboard you might be able to drop the humidity to sub 30% and get the dew point into the - minus numbers.

but can I recommend another approach, build a container for the board and trickle purge the container with nitrogen, removing the air from the atmosphere will remove the water vapour and stop freezing/ condensation as nitrogen has no water in it. I believe a non cp nitrogen has a dew point of -61 degc

you should’ve able to rent a bank, regulator and hoses from a local industrial supplier.

and if you rent something like a gas detector with purge function (oxygen in nitrogen) you can monitor it.

This style of video for gen Z viewers bothers me a lot, editing cuts every piece of information, goes through screens super fast, no sources, no details. It feels like I'm watching an YouTube shorts video. What test was this? where can we check the whole list?

Now you gotta use that chiller on an 8700G and overclock the iGPU to the max to get the fastest integrated graphics record lol

Pretty cool video, wish I could do something like this myself. 😕

Me too.

  • 1 month later...

I'm a sealed system and a senior appliance tech and I've been following your progress on the AC cooled PCs. I have a passion for fixing appliances and computers and for the past 6 months between your videos and my imagination I've come up with a lot of solutions for the problems both you guys and charles run into. Unfortunately I just have no way of communicating those ideas reliably, testing my hypothesis, and providing a new way to transfer heat efficiently with ethanol buffers.
