Weird behavior while gaming

Hello,

I don’t know for sure if this topic is in the right place but I have an issue with my computer. Whenever i play games there’s this weird thing that happens: White flashes on the game's screen, its mainly due to mouse clicks but sometimes it just randomly happens. There's two things to know about my system: I'm rocking Windows 10 22H2 (see screenshot) on a Ryzen 5 3600 32G of DDR4 RAM and a EVGA 1060 6G SuperCloked. I had to stop the windows updates cause it's not working and fail before the end of the update and roll back to previous one. So I was fed up of waiting on the PC to fail installing the update so i killed the new updates altogether. I'm on Nvidia GeForce Game ready Driver Vers 581.15. In the video linked here you can see the weird behaviour even if sometimes its way worse and just put windows behind the game up and minimise the game too. I didn’t get it to show in this video but it happens and I have to click the game window like a few times to get it back up. Is there anything I can do except reinstall windows to solve either the flickering or both of my problems ?

White flashes in games when pressing mouse button?

I think that has to do with Nvidia reflex settings.

You can find those settings in Nvidia control panel, or perhaps in the game settings.

Try to disable that to see what happens.

I usually edit my posts.

It's already disabled. The game featured in the video is a DS Emulator which extensively uses mouse control. When I play with a controller it doesn't happens that much.  Is there a way to export Control panel settings so you can see if there’s something weird in there ?

Clean install your GPU driver with DDU and then reinstall the latest Game Ready or Studio driver (not just overwrite.

Re-enable Windows Update temporarily and install pending updates sometimes display bugs are tied to OS patches.

Check if disabling Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling in Windows graphics settings changes the behavior.

Run the game in borderless windowed mode to see if it still flickers  if it doesn’t, that narrows it down.

If none of the above works, then yes, a clean Windows reinstall is the nuclear option.

Your hardware 3600 + 1060 should be fine for most games without this issue, so I’d start with drivers and updates first.

Okay So I did all the above except for the windows update (i'm smh not allowed  to re enable the service through services.msc) so I guess a fresh install is the only way out ... Is there a way i dont have to manually re download and reconfigure everything after a fresh instal ? (browser, obs settings stuff like that)
