(I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place to post this, so I apologize in advance if it should go somewhere else.)

Heys, so I just recently bought a BigScreen Beyond 2 and have heard it likes a third base station cause it is a lot smaller and sits closer to your face and is therefore less visible from some angles, so I got an extra one.

I made a quick floor plan to describe what I am talking about a bit better. Currently my base stations are in positions A and B, but I am wondering what I should do with the third once I get it. The big reason why I'm wondering that is because I use my headset quite a lot at my desk because I do some light VR development in my spare time. With my current AB setup I lose tracking on my controllers quite often while at my desk, so I was thinking of putting the 3 base stations in positions BCD. This way I would have one right in front of me and 2 flanking me over each shoulder and as far as I can tell, this would create full coverage of the play area.

Though online I hear a lot of people saying to put them in the corners, so in positions ABC so I would really like some advice from people who know a bit more about this. Thank you in advance!!

For Lighthouse base stations, the most reliable coverage is usually corner-to corner, diagonally across the play area. That’s why most people recommend abc corners instead of bcd.

Having one directly in front of you bcd can help for desk use, but it can also introduce occlusion if your body blocks line of sight. With corners, the tracking cones overlap better and you get fewer blind spots when you move around.

If you’re doing a lot of desk vr, you could experiment with bcd, but for full room coverage I’d strongly suggest keeping them in the corners abc.
