Hi All,

The time has came, 5 years after owning a 3070 & i7 10700k setup I am now needing to upgrade my rig. I am thinking of buying all the parts in the below screenshot and building my next PC.

Just asking for your thoughts and anything I should change etc?

Thanks!

👊

Gaming at 4K and Streaming

At this price range I would absolutely get an AM5 X3D CPU instead of an intel 14900k.

At 4k it matters less of course but intel is just not good enough and the 14900k is tough to cool and has degredation issues.

Paying that much for a 4090 when you can pay just 150 bucks more for a 5090 is wild.

Would this GPU run with the other components above?
I have been advised to build this PC so I wanted a second opinion on the build before, i appreicate your replies 🙂

Who advised you to get the build above?

If you were to get a 14900k I would get a 1200w power supply with a 5090.  A 1000w PSU is fine for a 14900k and a 4090 however. I have the same PSU 🙂

I just can't recommend Intel at this point and I will firmly stand by it. Buy a AMD X3D CPU if you plan on gaming.

I wouldnt buy this pc. Its one generarion behind and running a 14900k which has known hardware defects.

They have been avoided for now but we dont k ow if its a permanent fix or just slowing down the inevitable breakdown as its taken intel many tries to stop the cpu degrading.

Else ehh you can get a faster pc for less. For gaming a 7800x3d is CHEAP now and wipes the floor with a 14900k.

Board is very pricey and adds nothing to the build.

4090 is a terrible value as a 5090 is 100pounds away give or take.

64gb ram is unnecesary

Ssd is pricey and you can grt a 4tb nm790 for the price of the ssd + hdd.

Fans are a waste of money a 5 pack of arctic p seriers (max) is well beyond what you need.

Expensive case but if ya like it go for it.

Cooler is inadequate for a 14900k. It cannot handle that furnace.

You want to use a AIO with those fish tank cases instead of an air cooler (basic physics). Not a fan of those cases due to their poor airflow. This gives you a SSD with DRAM cache, ATX 3.1 psu w/10 year warranty, case with better airflow and a gpu that covers all the codecs in regards to streaming.
