She borked?

I get random stutters and freezes depending on the game, have had issues around since I got this a few months ago.

The driver "timeouts" stopped happening after a bit do I figured she's fine.
She's probably borked though, right? I left the house in the middle of a Peak game and intended on coming back to it... welp.

RX 470 btw.

I've tried OCCT which never reported an issue but in Furmark it had constant stutters and like I said it does a lot in games too.

2 examples are in Fortnite it'll freeze for a few seconds every so often (which has killed me before) and in GTA 5 it'll go from the smooth experience to what feels like 15 fps for a few seconds. No exact numbers on those.

It's an old card so...

You can test it in another pc, perhaps bring it over to a friend to test.

Is the powersupply old aswell? With age it could get weaker and glitchy, and might not feed stable power to the gpu.

So if you can also test that one.

Its a Kratos 750W something, it works well and when I borrowed a GTX 1660 Ti it didn't have issue with that. And this 470 has had the same behavior in a 12700K system

Ok then it's most likely the gpu that is faulty.

Do you plan to get a whole new pc?

Everything is so expensive nowadays, and a new gpu would just be bottlenecked by your pc. If you could "borrow with no specific time limit" the 1660ti that would be great 😁

Or you can look at the second hand market.

I actually just found a $20 GTX 1060 on market place so lets hope that works! I do plan to make a fully new PC but that'll be next year after saving for medical debt and the couple consoles I want that take a slightly higher priority.
I've been thinking about if I can find an old office PC with like an i7 or a Xeon, or a good deal on an early AM4 bundle. Or even a cheap X99 bundle or something. Idk, just day dreaming right now.

But for now lets just hope that 1060 works perfectly!

GPUs die. It's an old card.
