Yet another AMD build

Go to solution Solved by y0ur5h4d0w,

you could have something along the lines of this, i've omitted storage and GPU since you already have everything, i'm not build guru but i've tried to give you something that could fit your budget 😄

probably a different motherboard but i don't think there's too much difference on B mobos (i might be wrong), and i've seen (almost) only WIFI motherboards for some reasons, seems like it's getting a standard.

Hi everyone!

Budget (including currency): about 1400 USD (5000PLN)

Country: Poland

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, Arma 3, Arma Reforger

Other details
No peripherals needed. Will be running 2 screens, 1080p.

This upgrade is CPU driven, current build is based on AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT and is 5 years old. Arma 3 is heavily dependent on CPU and I want something new and future-proof.
Current MOBO doesn't support anything faster than what I already have.

It's important that the new mobo has both a x16 and at least a gen 3.0 x4 slot - 16x for the graphic card and I have a pci-e based ssd that I want to run full speed (right now stuck on gen2 x4 and 50% speed)
From my current pc I will be transferring 3 SATA SSD, 1 SATA HDD and the pci-e based SSD and a 4070 Super.

Pretty sure I will be happy with the CPU (AMD 7800X3D), but I have second thoughts about which MOBO and RAM to choose.

These 2 are the main things I want to have someone to look at, but if there is anything else wrong happy to hear it 🙂

Mobo doesn't need WIFI, will be using a wired connection.

I haven't decided on a case yet, but I know I want to try to find one that helps the pc to be "silent" and hopefully no glass panel. I hate my glass panel so much I actually applied black tint so I don't see what's inside :D

Thanks in advance 🙂

@Norrdec you want a board that supports PCIe 5.0 for the gpu and DDR5-6000 CL30 RAM for these AM5 cpu's if you intend on gaming.

Thank you both!
I noticed that one thing you both agreed on was the memory speed at 6000mhz. Is it not worth going above that speed?

you can go above 6000MT/s at CL30 but this is the sweetspot to have the most stability at the fastest speed, you could even go 6400MT/s at CL32 but (not considering the subtimings) you'll still have 10ns of response time so it doesn't matter that much

@Why_Me is the pc building guru, i'm just an apprentice lol
