If the graphics card isn't lining up with the slot, the motherboard is probably not spaced correctly from the side of the case. Loosen the screws holding the motherboard, and then insert the graphics card. Then tighten the screws back down

It hits the divider in the pcie slot

Well, in your pictures the GPU is not perfectly aligned with the slot.

The GPU is sliiiiightly outside of the PCIE slot.

It will fit.  Unless the divider in the PCIE slot is damaged and is larger than it should be.

Are you able to maybe film while you do this so I can see whats wrong?

Still pictures makes it quite tough to spot the issue.

Should the pcie bracket on the gpu be outside the case or inside

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

It really depends on the case.

It can be quite finicky to mount the GPU in some motherboard/Case combinations.

Also I have run into another issue. My gpu needs triple 8 pin power connectors but I seem to have lost one of the 3 8 pin power connectors that came with my power supply. I am running a Asus Thor P1 850w, can I use a 8 pin connector lying around from a corsair psu? If not is it fine if I run my gpu with 2 8 pin power connectors for the time being?

No you can't

You could try, worst case it doesn't work

What is the long term solution to this?

You could check with asus if they sell the cable.

There are other cable providers, fancy cables ?

If the 2 power connectors trick works halfway, you could lower power consumption with undervolting/underclocking

A 3080 needs up to 350W, 2 connectors provide 300W and the slot provides 75W so this could work.

This is a 5080 so I just want to make sure it doesn’t melt.

ok, so 360W,

Each connector should provide up to what is allowed, not more.

Your psu is Tier A in the list so it should be safe.

(Plug each connector carefully to the tilt, also psu side)

Worst case the desktop doesn't work or is unstable.

But you still wouldn’t recommend mixing cables from other brands?

This is dangerous, there are many posts about this going wrong, here and elsewhere.

You could check the cable and compare it with the others though.

Do the cables start and end the same place in the connectors, do the connectors match...

From your Asus Thor power supply, do you have any daisy-chain pcie cables?

If you run two cables, one for 8 pin and one for 2x 8 pin, you should not have a problem.

Asus Website says :

PCI-E 1-to-1 Cable x2 (675mm)
PCI-E 1-to-2 Cable x1 (675+75mm)

And op writes he has left 2 out of 3.

It would make sense if he has left :

PCI-E 1-to-1 Cable x2 (675mm)

(But well tried)

I have found this cable on amazon. Can it work?

I checked your product, it should work, your psu is in the compatibility list.

But in the comments I found :

I couldn't find any specific info on my ASUS Thor 850w Power Supply - but the cable wiring/pin setup don't match the setup of the cables that came with my PSU... Ended up using an extension to have a 3rd 8pin with individual braided lines.

So I'd still compare it with the other cables to be sure
