Budget (including currency): £3000-ish ($4050 US)

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CS2 / Escape From Tarkov / Rust / COD / Marvel Rivals / Upcoming games like BF6/GTA6

Hey everyone,

Looking for some advice on a new build please.

I built my current PC in 2017 (Intel i5 8600k Asus ROG Strix 1070ti) and now looking for an new rig.

£3000-ish budget. I'm very much out of the loop with the current tech so coming here for recommendations as you guys helped me with my last build.

MUST HAVES: 2 x NVME SSD's - one for C Drive os / one 3 TB+ for games. Minimum 32GB RAM (EFT has traumatised me with my current 16GB, If I press Escape in a raid the game crashes..."

WOULD LIKES / WANTS: I'm a fan of Asus, they have never let me down In the past. Seasonic power supplies for the same reason. AIO Cooler.

Always been an Intel-Nvidia user so would probably lean that way but I am happy to be educated if things have changed since I was In the tech knowhow

I also don't really mind what the build looks like. I'm very much into performance and reliability over aesthetics. The rig is going to sit on the floor and never be looked at.

I'm looking for something that will last me a while with upgrades later down the line.

I really appreciate the help!

Here's my recommendation! And here's some of my explanations because I think people appreciate that more than just "heres a list". And let me know if you'd like to not spend as much, because I can cut the price down a lot if you'd like to save money

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/L9qmzP

And since GTA 6 isn't out we can't plan for that but theres no way a 9800X3D + RTX 5080 wouldn't be good enough

I saw you say you're an Nvidia-Intel person, but their 12th Gen from 2021 is the last I'd recommend for now from them. 13th and 14th gen has instability issues and their Ultra 200 series just doesn't perform that well even compared to 12th gen I believe hearing (at least when it came out). Right now AMD's 9800X3D is the best CPU for gaming and what I'd recommend. Plus you'll have an upgrade path if you ever wanted to upgrade you CPU (which I get if you don't, not something I'm personally into).

The NZXT Kraken is a good quality cooler, and has a little display so you can check your CPU temps if you want while you're gaming or anything without opening another app.

I'll be honest for the RAM, it just looks nice, and you're got a lot of budget :). And kind of the same thing with the Asus ROG board, could go cheaper but you do want a high end board for an AIO because of the cpu pump connector I believe.

I got a little confused on the storage requirement. You wanted 2 seperate 3+ TB drives right? If not then change however many drives you want. But Samsung has some of the best drives out there.

For the graphics card I put the RTX 5080 because unless you want to cut corners a lot and try to go for an RTX 5090 (which isn't even really worth it) then this is as good as you can get without spending like 2/3 at least of your budget on the card.

I chose the Corsair 4000D for the case because I have one myself (the slightly older model) and its really good quality for a good price with a lot of airflow!

Seasonic PSU because that's what you asked for one of those bad boys and the other 3 fans are Noctua because they're the best I believe hearing a lot

Get 64GB RAM (2x32), because getting 2x16 now means you'll most likely sell it to upgrade instead of adding another kit.  DDR5 doesn't like 4 sticks much and can be hit or miss.

Not sure what rock you've been living under but you don't need to be educated on the AMD chips.  The X3D lineup has been beating the ever loving shit out of Intel for years now.   Not sure how you missed any of that, as ANY comparison of CPUs will have it on top.

Also, not sure what EFT is but you could have just added another 16GB RAM to your current rig....  My 8700K setup had 32GB for the past few years as needs demanded.  Why you've stuck with 16GB is interesting.

For a bit more overbudget, you can get top-of-the-line parts, and no need for two SSDs since you get one 4TB one - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VGvLXR

Or for less and way underbudget, you can get this - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TnCkKq

AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600g w/ Radeon Graphics | 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM | 256GB NVME SSD + 2TB HDD | Amazon Basics 2.0 Speakers

Thanks for all these amazing suggestions.

I trawled through them and I think I've come to a build I like.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/Wp64TM

What do you think of this? Any glaring issues you can see?

1. Two sticks of RAM, not four so that you don't stress the memory controller.

2. DDR5-6000 CL30 if you intend on gaming.

3. ATX 3.1 psu for these RTX 40XX / 50XX cards due to the power adapter.
