USB Flash Drive questions

I have a 32GB flash drive laying around and I want to do some cool things with it. My first question is can I boot ubuntu 64bit and 32bit from the same drive and have them both keep their preferences. (live installations of both). The next thing I want to do is encrypt the whole flash drive after I set up the operation systems. Can you still boot from an encrypted flash drive straight from the bios. I seem to remember this being possible with truecrypt, but I can't remember.

This is my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm right and is liable to change at any time. I may offend of which I apologize in advance.
