Am trying to get a build for a friend with parts off of marketplace. Specs would be

Gigabyte Rtx 3070,

r5 8500g,

32 Gb vengeance 6000mhz CL30, 240mm kraken aio,

h510 elite case,

EVGA 750w 80+ gold psu,

2x 1tb crucial p3 plus,

and Ik it’s a mATX motherboard but was going to vertically mount the gpu so I didn’t think it would be a massive issue. Im thinking of using these parts because I saw a few massive deals and the overall price would be around 700 aud dollars for a white/grey build

might be better off either spending a little more on the cpu or just saving a bit of money by going for an air cooler because there's really no reason for a 240mm aio here... unless it's dirt cheap for some reason

EVGA 750w 80+ gold psu,

Unnecessary, 500W would be plenty

there should be no issue with a normal horizontal mount either

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I know you should be right but I've got a 550W for my 3070 and I don't feel overconfident.

(I did undervolt the gpu massively, I've had my screen going black on a previous gpu)

For example, do all 500W psu have two 8 pin pcie power connectors ?

That’ll aio comes in a bundle with the psu and case and vertical mount

What cpu would you recommend?

That's a different question, of course you should make sure the psu you choose has the connectors you need and sufficient power on the relevant rails. If you have doubts on whether a specific PSU is good enough or has the features you need you can ask in the dedicated PSU subforum. Here we're working off vague info and we don't know what is available on the marketplace so I'm just giving general advice.

For 200 aud

well in that case there isn't much to add

it really depends on what is available to you and at what price
