Budget (including currency): $1400 CAD

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Elden Ring, Heavily Modded Minecraft and Skyrim, Oblivion(Remastered). Monster Hunter Wilds, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and Expedition 33

Other details: I will be playing at 4k, 27", 180Hz

Here's my current computer specs

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE LCD XT
MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI
Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB DDR5
Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500 GB & 970 Evo 1 TB
EVGA GeForce RTX 3080
Montech KING 95 PRO ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair RM850 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

If I should upgrade my GPU, It would be the RX 7900XTX because in another forum I asked if I should get a RX 7900XTX for $1,188.98 CAD or the RX 9070XT is $1,299.99 CAD, and people said that the 9070 was overpriced and go for the 7900.

So should I even upgrade?

(existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Here is a 16 game average at 4k, the 7900 XTX is a decent upgrade over a RTX 3080.

You also have a very good CPU so you will be getting absolute full performance out of a 7900 XTX.

If you think the FPS increase is worth the upgrade, go for it 🙂

The 7900XTX will not be a huge performance gain, but it will be faster. However, if you run ray tracing or AI, the 7900XTX will be a downgrade, as the ray tracing and AI is trash on it. The RX 9070XT would be better for you than the 7900XTX; it has better ray tracing an AI, and has a more modern architecture.

But, the 3080 is still a fairly good GPU.
