Hi i have a motherboard GA-Z270-HD3 and paired with i7 7700,

I cant get the motherboard to post when powering it up, the motherboard just cycles debug lights (cpu-dram-vga-cpu) then turns off, sometimes it cycles through boot light too,

Things i have done:

  • swapped ram
  • booted with one ram
  • swapped to a working processor
  • cleared CMOS
  • reseat power supply cables
  • reseat cpu

Im not sure what else if the issue, fans spin when powering it up

Thank you in advance, any help or opinions are appreciated...

You don't have that many options since you've already tried most things. if you can't get it to work with single stick of ram and no graphics card, then you'll need spare parts to swap in and out and see what's going on. I would try a different PSU and Motherboard. To me this sounds like a PSU issue but could be anything.

can you please check the number of standoffs to the number off screws you put in to hold your motherboard to the case its a easy mistake to make and very hard to spot. If you have one to many standoffs on the pc case this can short the motherboard to the case and cause many many issues. Just count to be safe.

Clever buggers will be along later to help until then ya stuck with me 🙂

Well then you know what to do, find a way to give that a try. Always remember to test outside the chassis to not waste time
