Bit of a weird one.

Has anyone else had a system that has various BSOD (Kernal_mode_Heap_Corruption, IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal, Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area) when a system has the motherboard positioned vertically but is stable when laid horizontally?

It does have a Noctua NHU12A Tower Cooler on a R9 7900X. The Noctua Instructions do say to use the offset mounting on AM5, could this be causing uneven pressure on the CPU causing a bad contact on the Pins?

I have tried reseating the CPU & I have checked the socket for damage and all look ok. All the parts are brand new.

I have been through the moving RAM Sticks around & did have it stable vertically with 1 stick in the outermost slot of the the 4.

I'm 2 evenings deep into this just want some confirmation I'm not going insane.

Is the RAM pushed into the slot all the way? Also make sure that the CPU is securely placed and the cooler is on tightly (but not enough to break the board).

I've tried the reinserting the RAM a few times, I thought I had a faulty RAM stick at one point but it's the socket while the PC is upright.

AM5 is a ZIF socket like intel now so just has a hold down bracket. I have tried reseating the CPU already.

The Noctua cooler is tightened up to the stops on the treads. Those screws bear down on the cooler mount through springs, but there's no way to adjust the pressure from those springs?

I've attached a drawing. I'm wondering if when the PC is upright, weight of the tower cooler is causing it to rotate slightly putting extra pressure on the lower part of the CPU & pulling the CPU away from the pins at the top?

It's possible, about the cooler pulling on the board! Try to remove the cooler and see if it crashes or not (make sure not to do any intensive tasks as to overheat your CPU) and please tell me how it goes! 😀

Do you have the Noctua offset mounting?
