Budget (including currency): € 660,- already a bit tight as is.

Country: The Netherlands

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: General quick responsive workstation. 1ch audio recording. Light 1080p editing in Premiere Pro.

Other details: Audio is not important, because it will be running an external adc/dac. It needs WiFi and a nice case that is not too high tower model.

Faster single core which for audio is a HUGE deal. The e cores on intel chips can get annoying for music and audio use due to their performance difference

110eur savings. 14400 is basically the 12600K just runs cooler and more stable. DDR4 for cheaper memory, I don't expect there to be too big of a performance difference in DDR generation especially considering the 100+ eur savings:

Another option is to see how much more performance you can get for the same amount of money, instead of recreating what you had for less.

Hey thanks for the ideas. I have thought about an amd setup. I heard DDR4 will be a viable option in that case as well.

But then I read about Intel Quick Sync significantly boosting performance in Adobe Premiere. But to get the most out of this setup, it is not getting that much cheaper than what I have listed.

Anyway, I thought about the Ryzen 8600G.

I see I missed that. Then @venomtail's setup is a good option!

You should considerer a board that supports DDR5 instead.

DDR4 is no longer going to be manufactured within the next few months and prices have already started to go up.

Hey, thanks for bringing this up. I wasn't aware. My initial thought was high speed DDR5 mainly because that's what gets the best performance out of these Intel generations.

But now I'm getting 2 sides xD. I see that for now DDR4 is still cheaper and the boards too. I don't plan on upgrading this later. This one will probably sit at my brother's place and die in like 10 years.
