Hey guys. I am having some problems with connectong to my VPN. Let me explain. So I know that server works. I alredy have 3 office pc-s connected and everything is runing smothly. But now I have to set up 2 new laptops for 2 new collegues. Anyway the college that set up vpn is not avaliable not so I can't ask him for advice. Basicly I don't know why my laptops witch is brand new dell latitude 5550 won't connect. It always says L2P error. I mean my collage that set up that VPN, told me that when he set up it on another colleges PC that he just did a fres instal of windows 10. Like I did that lik 5 times alredy by now. It's not rocket sience to just click next to set up a windows.... So basicly I am really confused what could he possible done to make it work. I tryied more then one time even windoes 11 fresh install nothing. The first thing I check when I instal windoes and Update all drivers, is if VPN works. But nope. Guys plese I am beging you I haven been stuck all day on this and I think I will go crazy. And yea I did every thing I could find on youtube, forums, github, even chatgpt. I did that thing even woth registers and still nothing. Like I basicly tried everything. And I remeber my collage telling me that even he tried all that and that only fress windoes 10 worked for him. Wlep it is not working for me. Please if Anyone knows what to do. I would apriciate it.

First of all we need to know what kind of VPN you are trying to setup.

Is it a VPN client software or is it a Windows built-in VPN setting ?

What kind of VPN are you trying to setup L2TP, PPTP, STP ?

Judging by the error you are receiving (L2P error) i will go on a limb and say you are trying to setup a L2TP Windows-build in VPN

In that case you need the following to setup the VPN:

-   Server name or Address (the gateway IP address of the VPN server)

- VPN type

Here you have L2TP with pre-shared key or with certificate (this is an additional step of verification)

pre-shared key is a password |*just so you know.

- Sign-in info

Username:

Password:

I'm guessing you are at work and need this done, but the IT admin is on holiday playing WoW and will not give you his time.
