so im stumped.

i love using rdp thats built in to me i like the ease of it but for the last little while i have not been able to access my machine anywhere

remotely i have a vpn running on my router that i use and in situations i cant use the vpn on my host i can remotely open the port forward to access for a bit until i close it

all three routes i use do not connect whether on my phone local on network, phone thru vpn remotely, or at my work on pc thru open port foward.

i have made sure  everything was updated gone thru settings to make sure a firewall rule didnt change but nothing works

from my phone it gives error 0x104,   from the work pc via open port 0x3

i just need to get rdp working again please

i even just did clean start restoring windows fresh but keeping personal data

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Wipe that machine and start again. Don't open that port again.

You didn't do a clean start. You did a "refresh", this does not ensure a malware free PC.

Use a service like RealVNC instead of remote desktop.

I REPEAT: DO NOT OPEN THE RDP PORT AGAIN

and yes i know opening 3389 is not idea and can be harmfull while unprotected i see it in the network console when it does get opened so i only open during use and shut it immediately last open which was for an hour it stopped about 60 brute force attempts

Sorry. I'm not sure anyone can help you. You don't seem to udnerstand what you've done.

your just saying that the method used is prone to attacks which it can be if unprotected i have protective measures all report no issues last issue was suspicious software which i isolated that was working with emulation

im trying to understand why it stoped working and errors out with codes pointing to the machine being offline all the sudden the open port method has only been used twice its primarily connected via vpn
