I recently installed a PCIe wifi card as the integrated wifi chip on the MSI B650 gaming plus WIFI is not that great and I was having some really bad instability issues. Before I would go from 50Mbps 90Mbps download and upload speeds to 2 and 0.2, 5 minutes later. I have been using the AORUS GC-WBAX210 PCIe card for a couple of days and have had the wifi stop working randomly about 5 times in 3 days and when I go to the device manager it says error code 43 on the wifi adapter, the bluetooth part of the card remains working fine. The way I have found to fix it is to disable and enable the wifi adapter a few times and randomly it starts working again, restarting the computer when the error hasn't fixed itself then gives error code 10, device couldn't start.

Has anyone had this issue or knows how to stop it happening?

The drivers are version 23.130.0.3 for bluetooth and 23.130.1.1 for wifi. I downloaded both of the intel website as the .exe files.

I think all the computer parts are listed as part of my profile but will include them here as well:
Motherboard - MSI B650 Gaming Plus WIFI

CPU - Ryzen 5 7600X

CPU Cooler - FROZN A410

RAM - Acer Predator Pallas II (I think) 32GB 4800MHz should be running at 6000MHz though
Storage - Crucial P3 Plus 1TB SSD
              - 1TB external SanDisk SSD
GPU - RX 7700XT
PSU - NZXT C750 Bronze

Do you have other wifi devices you can use to test the signal ? A phone, tablet, console, to test if the wifi signal is good where your computer is located.

Assuming your wifi is good, you can try a few troubleshooting steps :

  • Did you install or update your chipset drivers for the MSI motherboard ? This is often skipped but can improve stability a lot.
  • Did you deactivate the onboard adapter before using the AX210 plug-in card ? If two adapter are present, Windows can do bad things with both of them.
  • You can try to remove and re-plug the AX210 card (while the computer is unplugged). Sometimes a bad contact is the cause and unplugging clears the speck of dust that was the cause.
  • Some on-board wifi modules are on a small card that can be removed. Try removing the on-board module to see if the AX210 card performs better.
  • Try booting from a Ubuntu live USB stick and use it to browse or download stuff to see if your wifi card performs better. If the card works well under Ubuntu then the problem is not with the hardware.
  • Reinstall Windows if all else fails. It can be a hassle but it is an inevitable event because Windows tends to accumulate issues.

Good luck !

I have tested the wifi with my phone and laptop and it works fine for both of them.

I haven't done anything with the chipset drivers.
The motherboard wifi card is deactivated.

I have removed the AX210 and re-installed it.
The onboard wifi is under the rear IO heat sink and I'm pretty sure it's soldered on anyways.
I don't think the Ubuntu would help as the problem is not with the performance of the card, when it's working I get better speeds than on my phone and laptop, the problem is with the random error that shuts down the WiFi card.
