HI!

I have a problem, i just started playig Helldivers 2 and in the first few hours i hade around 120FPS, now 80 is max, with drops to 55 minimum. I don't know what happened, i need some help, some fix, or settings that will fix it. Also i would love to know if i need to upgrade something in my build, i am thinking that 16GB of RAM is the problem, but im not sure. Here are my specs:

GPU = MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Suprim
CPU = Ryzen 9 5900X

MB = ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING
RAM = Corsair VENGEANCE RGB RT 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 DRAM 3600 MHz C16
SSD = Samsung EVO 970 Plus 1TB
PSU = ATX BE QUIET STRAIGHT POWER 11 PLATINUM 1000W

And here are some photos from game with afterburner on:

Did you install any apps since that time?

AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600g w/ Radeon Graphics | 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM | 256GB NVME SSD + 2TB HDD | Amazon Basics 2.0 Speakers

Another question have you also checked your temps for you GPU? If it was fine for the first few hours and didn't change anything. That would be were I start.

16GB of RAM, to me, is fine but, if you do more then game with it, I would double it.

Edit: Also check temps because RTX 30** series had reported heat issues.

There is a list somewhere but, for some reason. I can't find it.

  I didn't check temps before, the problem is the game was running at 120+fps for few days, now it can't get this amount on the ship, where nothing is happening.

   I had 14.5GB usage in some point so there is need for that, but I think that's not the reason of my problem.

  How can I check temps properly? Is there a special app for it?

I would use a Hard Ware Monitor, this one should be just fine to use. https://openhardwaremonitor.org/  just want to be able to look at it while you see the frame drops, but I read the last two. I now have another easier suggest before that. Check to see if you graphics was updated right before the issue started. It could be a driver issue as well. If it was just roll it back to see if it fixes the problem.

So check driver and temps.

I used tihs app that you linked me. I played about 45min session, started with 110fps on the ship, then 100 in game, ended quickly on 65 fps after few minutes.
There are screenshots from this app that i made when i had those 65 fps. I didn't checked the drivers yet.

Your temps look fine for. 90c is not ideal in my opinion but it is gaming hell divers. I recommend rolling your GPU driver back and see if that fixes it. I will send some instructions if you need it.

I looked up your card using this settings

Now of course you can use your serial number and it will be ten times easier for sureScreenshot 2025-06-09 164031.png

  • 2 weeks later...

I was looking for solution for my problem, but only what i found was that the game optimalisation is poorly made, going higher in mission difficulties generates more enemies, also they are more advanced so there is more things to calculate by your CPU. Changing graphic settings helps with generating more fps, but as much as it should, but frames will drop eventually when there is a lot going on in game, so getting more than 60FPS by me is pointless, because they will drop to 55 sometimes, so drop from 60 to 55 is less visible than from 90FPS.  Running game with DirectX 11 by using launch option command dx11 / --use-d3d11 or --use-d3d11 (one of them) can increase your FPS by 20%. Thats all i was able to do, there are some tricks to do on the internet, like deleting shaders cache, but it did nothing for me.
