Hey everyone,

I woke up this morning to my PC having trouble booting. Eventually, it turned into blue screens and extreme Windows lag (when it would boot up). The PC would crash when installing new drivers, which led me to confirm that my Gigabyte Windforce 4070 OC bricked itself. To confirm, I plugged it into my friend's PC. Of course, he began having the same issues, but when we plugged in his old GPU, he was still having the same boot and blue screen issues. Where should I go from here?

Have your friend DDU and do a clean reinstall of the graphics drivers and see if that works.

Improper shutdowns and crashes can cause driver corruption so doing a clean reinstall should hopefully fix it for your friend.

I went into Device Manager and removed his 3070, along with checking the option to remove the drivers associated with it. Do you think that would be adequate?

Possibly, you can try.

A DDU is recommended, it will remove all traces and files of previous GPU drivers.

Its the best option.

Did DDU, and the pc still crashes. What should the next steps be? A windows wipe?

There are probably other steps I would try but to bypass all of them and just go for the best option.
Yes, try reinstalling windows fully.  But since you did a DDU the drivers should be completely clean anyways.

Weird case..

I will think about it more tomorrow, its 2AM and I need sleep.

I will reply again.

Thank you! I need the help. Is resetting windows through the reset windows option enough?
