Keyboard register multiple inputs

Hi, goodnight friends. My friend has a problem where his keyboard register multiple inputs without him pressing on a buttom multiple times. Example: he wants to type "steam" and it registers "sssssttteeeeam". What could be the problem? oth
We had tried updating the drivers, connecting the keyboard on a different USB port and connecting other keyboard. Results? Changing USB ports does not work, drivers are updated, other keyboard do not function.
He tells me that using the keyboard close to the case makes it work normally and using it on a laptop too which is weird.

Is it connected to pc through wire? or through wireless dongle?

Is it mechanical keyboard, or membrane ?

constant keys or pure random ?

It is through wire, it is membrane and it seems are pure random/any keys.

has he tried cleaning it?
