I have read alot about people having a problem with the CPU not parking the cores and such.. BUT my problem is the oppesite and after endlessly searching for an answer without finding one i am trying my luck here.

So the problem i have is that i run a setup with 3 monitors and when starting a "registered game" for parking it does as such, but the problem is that any video/youtube i have running on my 2nd monitor stops or stutters because of that, now i tried to disable "gaming mode" which got them running again so they didn't park, but the problem is that it didnt stop the stuttering/freezes

Drivebeyondhorizons and ETS2 for some reason still gets my youtube/VLC to stutter and freeze which to me is weird since before i switched i had an AMD R9 3900x and was streaming, youtube and i had 2 games running at the same time without any problems.

Anybody got any idea for what it can be, or is it just how this CPU works?

my spec are as such:

GPU - 3070TI

CPU - 9950X3D

RAM - DDR5 6000 M/T 64GB

Motherboard - ASUS Prime X870-P Version 1028

AMD software driver version - 25.5.1

I dont have ryzen master as i got told not to install it

So after a few days tampering around i am lost for what to try, and its lowkey starting to bother me a bit to buy such a CPU only for be worse than the R9 3900x i had before, even when i stop the parking it seem to lagg/stutter, so it might be because the game and youtube/video i am trying to stream at the same time takes from the same CCD and it isnt spread out across the cores.

I dont know what to do or how (if possible) i can select which cores to use

I seem to have the problem on these games from what i have tried Euro Truck Simulator 2, Drive Beyond Horizon, 7DTD

You think i need to reinstall again, i did when i build the system? like 2 weeks ago

EDIT: How do i actually see the driver, or is that the amd software that takes care of that?

Ok, I thought you were still running the old Zen 2 install. I assume windows is up to date? Make sure Game Bar is up to date as well.

Okay so i am a bit confused now, i went to AMD website to see the chipset driver and mine is the newest, but for fun i tried to go to the asus website and the show a totally different driver version and name, and i can't seem to find that one anywhere, can that be my problem that i have the wrong driver?

Game bar should be up to date, i just opened it so it should auto update if there is one, i hope since i dont really use it. Windows doesn't report any new updates either.

I have the latest driver from AMD, but dont think i got any from ASUS website, do i need that?

I didnt install anything from Asus. I installed windows, installed GPU and chipset driver, and its been since January or so that I have been running my original install. I even beat it with a bunch of unstable memory clocking lol.. seems ok still. When I play a game, it runs on the first CCD because I am assuming that is where all the fast cores are. I see boosts in excess of 5800MHz effective on those cores and threads. Typical max average effective that I see is ~5650MHz.

My cpu works as intended i think then, it parks the cores as shown in resmon CPU 0-15 running and 16-21 is parked, boosts to 5.7 and all that seems to function as it should.

Can it be that my CPU isnt the problem, but since i got a newer gen CPU it might be because my nvidia GPU driver is V566.36? I havent updated it since because all of the problems with nvidia so i saw on reddit some months back that people should just stay with that version and dont update

EDIT: So from watching a few video on different driver it seems that 572.83 might be the next version after 566.36 that doesnt lower your FPS in games compared to latest driver and seems to be stable so i will try that and see if it makes any difference

UPDATE: So after fiddling around with one of the games (7DTD) that makes video stutter i figured something out, when i look at a wall and GPU is at about 60% usage, BUT if i then place a torch on a wall, nothing else and looking same spot and all, usage goes all the way to about 85%, and if i go around in my base nothing happens and video runs fine, as soon as i look at something with fire the usage spikes, so it might lead to some shadow/light effect in those specific games that is not optimized
