Thank you for replying, I am using two 360 rads and just put a new pump/distro plate combo so the pump is good and the GPU is on the loop and it's hitting 40°c max under load.

That's really good. But did you check with your fingers ? It's a simple and easy test. It only requires removing the side panel.

My friend deals with cyber security and he thinks a bad chipset driver especially since it was running perfectly fine before the wipe, so I did a fresh install and yeah it helped some but still nowhere as low as it was before the wipe.

I agree a driver can be the culprit. it is hard to pinpoint that cause unless you can use many different versions.

Good luck !

Ok, so I have upgraded my PC to the ryzen 7 9700x after a CPU died on my am4 system.

I use kpx thermal paste and a Corsair water block for the CPU also two 360 radiators, there has been 0 issues whatsoever except minor bugs.

I reinstalled windows 11 for a fresh clean start and now my system is pegging 95°c when gaming when before the max it would hit before the reset was 50°c. I have tried undervolting but it keeps dropping my CPU speeds to max of 3800mhz even when I drop vcore to 1.25v so it doesn't fluctuate to 1.4v in a game.

I'm completely at a loss now and I'm about to just buy a MSI motherboard and replace the gigabyte one because I know how to use MSI bios a lot easier 😅

Anyways if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

P.s. I tried changing thermal paste and that didn't help, I am using a PTM sheet now and still same issues.

I remember some motherboard having issues with  ryzen 9000 series but it was more about high power models (9900X, 9950X, and x3D variants). It is worth googling in case you find something useful.

As for thermals, there is just no way a 360 AIO can't manage to keep a 9700x cool. That processor has a tdp of only 65W and even an AMD stock cooler (like the Wraith Stealth) is more than enough.

Did you check if the AIO pump is running ? If you can't see the liquid move, try touching the tubes near the CPU block. One should be much hotter than the other if the pump is doing its job.

If the pump is pumping and the CPU is still reporting 95C, either a CPU temps sensor is bad or the CPU is using way too much power.

Before contacting the manufacturer of the motherboard, you can try clearing the CMOS memory in case there is a bad overclocking setting. But if things continue like that, you should contact Gigabyte and ask them for an RMA unless they can fix that issue.

Good luck !
