Transferring OS

just got an SSD , I am going to transfer my OS too. The problem is I need to reduce the amount of space on my main HDD to a reasonable space to be able to be cloned to my SSD , does anyone know any good programs that help reduce and remove stuff from my HDD ?

 

The SSD is 60GB 

My Main Hard drive has a 297GB free of 596GB

Any Help would be Helpful! Thank you!

mm I would reckon to reinstall your OS, you may find you wont use some programs on there anymore? also you would get a clean registry,

 

If you want to try cloning, i can only sugest that you use the control panel > uninstall a program, also clean out your temp files using CCleaner for example,

 

IMO I would recommend reinstalling the OS

Fresh install, check for guides how to install Windows on small SSD and thats it.

 

Transfering OS ir very bad solution, because newest Windows OS (7, 8, 8.1) reconize SSD and does work differently with it, than with HDD.

 

When installing Windows, disconnect all other drives to not having problems later.
