Hello i am building a gaming pc using i7 7800x; arctic freezer 34 esports; msi x299 sli plus; rtx 3070 founders edition; 2x8gb gskill aegis 3200mhz; zalman 800w psu and 1st player mv8 tp. My questions are: will the psu be enough power ful if i oc the processor to 4.6ghz; and will a bottleneck occure on 1440p or 4k?

Thank you!

800w is enough to power this system even if you overclock the CPU and GPU.

However... I would like to know what exact Zalman PSU it is, because some should be avoided and they are dangerous.

800W Zalman MegaMax v2

Unfortunately I can't recommend you continue with this power supply.

On both PSU Tierlists, this is listed as AVOID / Replace immediately.

800w is plenty enough for your system even if you overclock but the Zalman MegaMax V2 is a terrible power supply.

Tier: E,  Avoid.

Throw it in the trash!!!

This unit is just going to KILL your pc. Its exceptionally bad and dies at low load. Due to lack of proper protextions when it dies it has a high chance of going nuclear and killing the entire pc.

Why is it a bad power supply. Please explain because i saw the photo you send but why to replace it immediatly?

It fails a psu test. As in it cannot do what it says on the box and just goes up in smoke.

Also no protections that are functional of any kind so like you using the microwave for example whilst some other appliciances are on are enough for it to voltage drop/spike and shit to go realllllllllllllllll wrong. Just one of the things it cant handle.

Also aince its a 230v only psu it doesnt even have to do ac-dc conversion which usually means high efficiency automatically. Seeing its the worst label (white) is a dead giveaway they used the worst cheapest components able to be found

For the price of this you can have a 650w msi ab psu which is enoigh to power the pc and well wont kill it.
