hi, i was thinking to buy ST8000DM004 (SMR), but idk if it would be good enough for 4k video playback. I KNOW write speeds are horrible, but i don t care as i ll just chuck one of them in my old computer which will be my media server. no plan to transcode the files, so i ll display them as is.

i see, i was thinking to get an ironwolf but idk if it s worth paying (exactly) 25% more for the same amount of storage considering i don t really mind slow writes and it s also not important data that requires reability.
