Mystery screwdriver

I have noticed, that for the mystery screw driver, the only possible colourways are noctua brown and noctua beige. I still ordered one, because I am annoyed by the cheap screwdriver I am using and 50$ is an actually reasonable price. I just wandered if they started with all colours and only have noctua left or if it has a different reason?

"Mystery" Screwdriver used to include other colors. The last LTX had a "build your own Screwdriver" booth, where customers could pick from an assortment of different color parts. After the show, they took the leftover parts and assembled as many "Solid Color Screwdrivers" as they could using them. Once that part supply dwindled, they grabbed whichever colors they had left of whichever parts they needed to assemble complete screwdrivers. Those are the random color "mystery" Screwdrivers you're probably thinking of.

 

IIRC, "Retro" gray and purple Screwdrivers were also available under the "Mystery" Screwdriver SKU for a while. They probably just sold out of those.

 

I don't believe the black-on-black or orange-on-black Screwdrivers were ever available under the "Mystery" SKU. "Mystery" grab-bag listings are usually for clearing out dead stock at a discount.

Oh, so they are liquidating the Noctua screwdrivers, eh.

"Mystery" is used to sell last scraps of the stock. Meaning there's too few left to list them, but too many to keep for warranty purposes. Most likely all other color combos are already sold out.

Before I noticed on the Noctua screwdriver page that only beige was an option and said that brown was not stocked and would not be restocked. Does this mean if I order it I will only get the beige color?

Yes? Pretty plainly and clearly said. All special colours are limited editions.
