is this build good enough? or would you change anything?

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/q8JhTM

I like all sorts of games, graphics intensive, cpu intensive, I am also a programmer and I love multi tasking.

Currently have a 1440p monitor but future plan to upgrade to a 4k monitor. I do have a 4k gaming tv which I plan to connect to if I want to play games like witcher 3.

Also, out of the 3 storages, two of then coming from my old pc, should I use old storage? The old nvme is 6 years old and the ssd is 3 years old.

looks good, the life span of ssds is usually around 5-10 years is I would at least have a backup of the data on them.

Looks good, but on that budget you could get a 9800X3D

"old" drives are fine as long as they report as being in good health, a big old SATA SSD for game storage is fine

I was trying to get 9800x3d but 9800x3d with motherboard comes out to be $160+ more. I don't know if I want to keep adding more expenses

Actually looks good and no real notes

Maybe skip the 990 due to firmware issues it HAD and go for an sn850x but that is a nitpick rather than a meaningful improvement

If you disagree with anything I've said tell my why with logic not feeling

I suppose you mean a b850 board rather than a b650 board

That wont be needed since you can run an OC'ed 9800x3d on a board like the b650 eagle ax which is a good "cheap" board and have no issues

Sure the GPU makes a big dent in the budget 🙂

You can save on the cooling, a TR PA120 is $40, get a cheaper SSD (plus you don't really need one new), and keep the same board (just update BIOS before booting)

Then the 9800X3D is only $100 more, you end up with a cheaper build 🙂

No I meant if I buy them separately its $160 more, I got a combo deal for 7800x3d and Asus B650E MAX GAMING WIFI for $586 (including tax)

Do I not need 1000w? I was under the impression that I needed all that juice especially if I try to overclock in future? Also I don't care about corsair, I just want a good brand I can rely on

Do you NEED it? No and @TatamiMatt is correct in that you can get away with an 850w unit

I personally tho would stick with a 1000w unit for safety since you alrady are drawing about 670w and with spikes or OC you would get close to the limit of safe running

Maybe not a corsair PSU for my taste but but a 1000w unit regardless

850W would be ok, but for only $30 more I'd get the 1000W model too

Too bad BeQuiet PSUs aren't much available in the US, they're good and relatively cheap in Europe (esp. the PP 12M model)

Yeah same

PP 12M seems to be the meta pick currently in the EU and same with the the GF line up from thermaltake which also weirdly cheap-ish but with 10 year warranty and good performance according to cybernetics

For 4K 3D CPU benefit will be benimal. For 4K, CL30 gains will be minimal. For gaming, PCIE Gen 5.0 M.2 gains will be minimal. B650E board gains over B850 are minimal.

You can easily reuse the old storage.

Be quiet PP 12 M as @PDifolco said but you arent in the EU so I'll make some more US focused suggestions

-Seasonic Vertex GX-1000 is a unit I havent heard anything bad about and seasonic is a brand thats known for its quality (shouldnt buy based on brand alone but seasonic has the track record as well)

-The NZXT C1000 isnt a bad pick either

There are others too but I currently I cant check and list them all off

Yeah but if I go for 9800x3d plus a motherboard it will cost me around $428 (cpu) + $210 (mobo) + tax

Also 9800x3d is out of stock, most of the places. Amazon saying 2-3 weeks for the $428 one

Im currently running a, well whats in my sig below

Ive had my GPU pull 460W before, never had an issue with 850W PSU and 460W should be more than the 5080 can pull if im not mistaken? In saying that it could be worth a small bump to get to 1kW but depending on what that bump is you could be saving up to $30, $40 or even more

Amount of reviews is meaningless for how good a product is. Corsair has a way bigger marketing budget than MSI, so more people buy Corsair, thus more reviews. Both MSI and Corsair are good, just Corsair's transition to ATX 3.1 pissed me off with how messy it was so I'll have a preference over other brands first for now.
