PC doesnt want to boot. i dont even get to see the booting screen. it will just sit there spinning the fan and not actualy boot.

status lights show a ram issue. I have already reseeded the ram 2 times and this didn't fix the issue.

Only thing i have been able to get the system to boot is CEMOS? (pulling the battery out of the motherboard) and then booting 1 or 2 times until the pc does want to boot.

I build the pc myself and have been using it since 08-2024, this issue sudden happend since last week.

PC parts:

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Gigabyte B650 gaming x ax v2 motherboard (bios version 31)

g.skill ddr5 flare x5 2x 16gb 6000

sapphire pulse amd radeon rx 7900xt gaming oc 20gb graphics card

msi mag a850gl pcie5 powersupply

wd_black sn850x NVMe SSD 2 TB

thermalright PS120SE cpu cooler

gigabyte site is showing updating bios could cause issues but i would guess doing a CEMOS every time im booting is probebly also bad.

is there a way to troubleshoot what my issue is. after a cemos im just able to use my pc normaly.

i dont have spare parts to test with. im very unfamilair with setting up my bios and what i would need to change to possibly fix this.

try booting with only one ram stick.

Of course its bad. Try what @strange13930 suggested first. Have you updated your BIOS recently? Also, try all sticks, but 1 at a time. Pull out all sticks and try putting only 1 in the pc, if it doesnt work, try the second, etc.

One simple thing you can try is replacing the CMOS battery.  It is a regular CR2032 lithium battery used for watches and remote controls. It may or may not help but it costs so little that it is worth a try.

for fuck sake, i should have really thought of that.

Seems like the issue is in 1 ram stick. no idea why a cemos reset fixes the bad stick but whatever.

guess i will try and get a warrenty claim on it/them.

Thank you for the quick trouble shooting step.

Yeah, sometimes people forget about the quick fixes. No problem dude! Also, fun fact, do you know that there are diagnostic lights on most motherboards? They can tell you if RAM, CPU, VGA (GPU) or something else (depends on mobo) has catastrofically blown up or is not connected properly.
