So after some hard storms my pc has been weird. First my Ethernet port was completely messed up and not working but after some time it just started working again. But now the fans are like going at full speed and not showing up on the L connect software but my cpu cooler is. Anyone have thought on how ti fix? Thank you

Hi, first thing, download a couple of memory test and stress test softwares first and then try disconnecting every peripheral but the mouse keyboard and monitor and check the PC behavior, every USB cable and the Ethernet cable.

If it works might be the Ethernet port, try disabling it on the bios

Next step is changing the power supply, try borrowing one if possible

If this doesn't work the motherboard might have been more compromised than just the Ethernet port.

Your internet connection is fiber optic or cable? If it's cable and you live in a condo check if anyone else had problems with the cable boxes failing during the lightning storm. Or if someone had problems with any devices failing at the same time.

My internet is satellite. It’s Elon musks star link since it’s all we could get it. It works wirelessly and like I said after a bit of time waiting the Ethernet port started working again so we’re good on that now and all that’s bad is the fans going full speed and not being on my software.

I tried doing a power cycle but that didn’t change the fans at all. Also on the bios I can’t change the fan speed at all. I don’t have any extra parts to change out and see if that’s the issue. I was thinking of disconnecting everything from the little controller all my fans are connected to and seeing if maybe that would help.

after that I would have to start seeing if it’s something like my psu or motherboard that is he problem. If you have any thoughts on what I’ve said I would appricate since I have no clue what to do

It might be a power surge damaging hardware.

AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600g w/ Radeon Graphics | 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM | 256GB NVME SSD + 2TB HDD | Amazon Basics 2.0 Speakers

What would be a fix for this. I thought it was a motherboard issue and I would have to replace it because my Ethernet port stopped working but now that’s working again
